Product Description

Ska , (late 1950s) defined as the first indigenous urban pop sound out of Jamaica, was a precursor to the music genres of rocksteady and reggae. Combining elements of Caribbean mento (Jamaican folk music) and calypso (Trinidadian music) with American jazz and R&B, ska has a distinct sound characterized by a walking bass line accented with rhythms on the offbeat. Ska has had several international waves, with the first wave in the early 1960s with the hit My Boy Lollipop by Millie Small to the fourth and most recent wave influencing many American pop groups such as No Doubt, Sublime and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones as well as the reintroduction ofska pioneers such as the Skatalites and Derrick Morgan to new audiences.

3" earrings composed of brass and copper. The earrings are accented by brass beads, brass filigree covered pink pearls, pink Czech glass beads, coral colored shell chips, various lengths of cascading copper chain and brass seahorse charms.
